Item Description
Here we have wonderful decorative late 19th century pharmacist hand blown display/dispensing glass jar, of large proportions.
The jar is reverse painted, with an off white ground and gilt detailing, there is some loss to the paintwork, but this only adds to its charm and the overall decorative quality. The jar would of housed "MAGNESIA"
The jar has had some historical damage around the lip, this has been expertly repaired with a hessian backing and a high strength resin glass filler. Please refer to the photographs provided, the repair is solid and sturdy, and is well camouflaged with its positioning and some coverage from the gilt lined lid.
Likely produced by Lynch & Co, these were fashioned for the royal pharmaceutical society and the jar bears their coat or arms.
72cm in height
