Item Description
This is a pair of stunning antique French flames that date from the 19th century. These are sculptural treasures created from bronze and were once used as decorative finials. Through the passage of time a wonderful patina has been created that in my opinion only brings forth their true beauty and splendour today. The flame is a symbol of life, freedom and liberty. It also represents transformation, passion, energy and purification. Each one measures about 22 x 12 x 12 cm or approximately 8.6 x 4.7 x 4.7 inches. In lovely antique condition and exactly as I discovered them recently in Avignon in the South of France. With signs of ageing mainly seen in their timeworn patina.
