Item Description

Two pairs making a set of four, William IV ormolu candlesticks with silvered bronze swans, after the design by William Bateman II for Rundell, Bridge & Rundell.
Height 7 inches
These candlesticks are fine examples of this recurring model, originally designed by William Bateman II for Rundell Bridge & Rundell, these differing mainly in the bases, which on the original silver model exhibited a more elaborately rococo form with shell feet.
Rundells was Royal Goldsmith from 1797 until 1843, responsible for the Crown Jewels worn at the coronations of George IV, William IV and Queen Victoria.
