KONTRAST. was founded by husband-and-wife team Isaac and Elery, who specialise in antique English country house seating. In recent years, they have built what is likely the most extensive collection of Howard & Sons sofas and armchairs in the country.
Isaac draws on experience in sustainable furniture design and production, bringing a thoughtful approach to sourcing and a commitment to sympathetic, responsible restoration. Elery trained in interior design with a focus on textiles and photography in Tallinn, where medieval tradition meets Soviet brutalism, and brings a distinctive eye to presenting and documenting the collection.
Together, they develop and recreate historically accurate textiles for use in restoration, supporting a traditional upholstery service carried out with trusted craftspeople.
Today, KONTRAST. works closely with private clients and interior designers across the UK and overseas.
