Item Description
Scarce small teak desk with brass structural elements designed by architect Svend Age Madsen and produced by K. Knudsen & Søn in Denmark. Stamped. Circa 1950s.
A beautifully designed desk with Madsen’s trademark organic, sculptural presence.
Made from solid and veneered teak, the angled tapering legs are braced by diagonal brass tension rods and a lower teak stretcher, giving it strength while keeping the design visually light. There is a neat recessed organiser, the top sliding open to reveal a concealed storage bay ideal for a laptop and everyday essentials. This feature keeps the desk’s surface clear while adding real practicality. The key is no longer present.
The desk is in very good to excellent condition and has the original finish, which has been cleaned. Showing a lovely patina and colour. There are a few scuff marks to the base of the legs and a small ink mark near the drawer to note. The back is also finished and in very good condition so it does not have to sit against a wall. There is no damage to the desk.
Desktop height is 70cm. There is 61cm in height beneath.
Delivery included to mainland England, Wales and southern Scotland.
