This elegant vintage hand-knotted prayer rug is attributed to the Hereke weaving tradition of northwestern Turkey and showcases a finely balanced Tree of Life design framed within a distinctive mihrab arch. Woven with an exceptionally fine knot count, the composition features graceful flowering branches, stylised birds, and intricate floral ornamentation set against a luminous turquoise-blue field, complemented by warm ivory, soft rose and deep indigo borders. The refined drawing, delicate palette and silk-like sheen are characteristic of Hereke workshop production, creating a sophisticated decorative textile of exceptional craftsmanship. Its harmonious proportions and highly detailed execution make it equally suited to display as a wall hanging or as a luxurious floor covering.
