Item Description
Grete Jalk teak sofa by France and Son c 1965.
This lovely Danish teak sofa was designed c 1960, and is labelled for the well known firm of France and Son. The disc label dates this one to around 1962-1965. Grethe Jalk designed this model and a better known but plainer one for France and Son. Not a sofa to put against a wall with it's distinctive wide shaped splats to the back. One of our photos shows it with a chair we have which is from the range with the plainer back. It is listed separately.
This three seat teak sofa has been re upholstered in a mink wool, the colour is a warm grey brown with a mottled texture. The colour is close to an original colour used on this France and Son model. It has new foam cushions and the webbing and cover on the base has been replaced.
191cms wide at maximum, seat height 43cms, total depth 73cms
Condition
The frame has been cleaned and fully restored and is in good condition. All new upholstery which complies with domestic fire regulations.
