Large 1960’s Danish ceramic table lamp by Le Klint 73cms
Le Klint of Denmark are known for their lighting and their pleated shades. This lamp is larger than most you’ll see. Probably produced by the small quality ceramic company Palshus who appear to have made most of the ceramic pieces designed and retailed by Le Klint at the time. This one is moulded with the Le Klint name to the base. We found one other online which was marked Le Klint in underglaze blue.
We’ve photographed it without a shade but it did come with a Le Klint pleated shade when we bought it in Denmark a few years ago but we now can’t find the ring on which it stands. Genuine Le Klint pleated shades are still available at new and cost £200-£300 each depending on size. We’re gradually working through the lighting we bought over the decade that we were regularly buying in Scandinavia.
It's 73cms high to the top of the fitting and 16.5cms wide at the base
ConditionIt does have a very small chip to the edge of the back at the base but this is barely noticeable. It is shown next to the black wire in one of the photos.
It’s been re-wired to current UK standards using the original Danish fitting . Also PAT tested.
