We always like to buy pieces by Mogens Kold as they’re always very stylish and are fantastic quality. Most, but not all of their pieces were designed by Arne Hovmand Olsen, but they did use other designers from time to time. This model doesn’t come up for sale often, but when it does it’s usually attributed to Olsen.

As with all Mogens Kold pieces the detailing is excellent and they would have been very expensive when new. When we bought them they were upholstered in a worn black vinyl which along with papercord was the go-to finish for most 1960’s dining chairs. Today the use of vinyl rather than leather seems a bit odd, but at the time artificial materials were the norm. We’ve had them re-upholstered in a lovely jet black wool which suits the design and is so much nicer than vinyl.

They could be used as desk chairs or side chairs as well as added to a set of dining chairs.

Fully labelled for Mogens Kold which is not always the case as some retailers didn’t like to sell branded furniture.

Condition

The teak frames have been cleaned and oiled and are looking great. As previously mentioned they have been newly upholstered in black wool. As with all vintage pieces you must expect to see some minor signs of wear if you look very closely.
