Item Description
Pair of Danish teak bedsides with quirky handles
Dating to the late 1950’s or very early 1960’s when contrasting oak legs and bases were a typical feature. Later cheaper screw in legs and more standard designs took over. We bought them with the matching tall chest and a small mid size chest about 10 years ago in Denmark. We sold them to a TV company who then sold them to a Props Hire Company who are now moving so we bought them back. We could only find one other of the tall chests on a Google picture search and none of the other pieces. In the late 1950’s there were still a number of small Danish cabinet makers producing items in small numbers, but these gradually disappeared or were taken over by larger makers.
The matching tall chest is for sale separately.
45cms wide, 33cms deep, surface height 51cms
Condition
Cleaned and oiled with no obvious marks or scratches. As with all vintage pieces you must expect to see some minor signs of wear if you look very closely.
