Item Description
Hisui. The jade of imperial fortune. The unembellished, lustrous section of the same fukuro obi as the matching runner — celadon as the canvas that lets the runner's gold sing.
Crafted from the unembellished, lustrous sections of the matching fukuro obi, this placemat presents a field of pure deep green — hisui celadon jade — that calms the eye. It serves as the grounding canvas for porcelain, offering a tactile smoothness and a subtle, aristocratic sheen. The hisui gives the setting its calm. The smooth weave gives it its lustre.
A placemat that lifts a single place at the daily table — quiet beauty for ordinary moments, gathered around a shared meal.
Each placemat is lined in undyed silk to protect the face. No metal touches the visible silk.
Renaras: Japanese ceremonial silk, reimagined for daily life.
Each piece arrives with its own passport from the atelier — a small handmade record of the silk's first life and its transformation, signed and dated in Amsterdam.
Material: Japanese ceremonial silk, solid structural weave from fukuro obi
Dimensions: 45 × 30 cm (approx. 17.7 × 11.8 in)
Care: Dry clean or spot clean.
Origin: Japanese ceremonial silk, designed and finished at the Renaras atelier, Netherlands.
Pair with the runner from the same collection. Each placemat is unrepeatable; acquire as many as you need.
One silk. One story. One piece. Never repeated.
