Item Description
A striking and rare antique 1930s Indian export silver-plated (EPNS) wine cooler, beautifully capturing the "Indo-Deco" movement where international Machine Age modernism merged with traditional Indian heritage.
This substantial champagne bucket can fit at least two bottles if desired and features a classic, elegantly tapered cylindrical body accented by two crisp bands of concentric horizontal ribbing. The minimalist silhouette is perfectly balanced by two chunky, geometric knob handles, embodying the bold symmetry of1930s barware.
The underside bears an exceptional regional maker's trademark: a crisp pictorial stamp depicting a multi-armed deity (Nataraja/Dancing Shiva) enclosed within an irregular hexagonal shield, cleanly marked "E.P.N.S."
Condition & Patina: The cooler is in excellent antique condition with a wonderful, honest patina. Decades of careful polishing have created beautiful, gentle "bleeding" along the raised crests of the concentric rings, exposing hints of the warm, golden nickel-brass base alloy beneath the silver plating. This subtle dual-tone finish adds immense depth and authentic character, making it a spectacular statement piece for a home bar.
