Amazing French 1970’s wired glass floor lamp 159cms
We bought this one a while back but never got round to getting it listed until we sourced the 2 smaller ones ! Unlike the table top ones it wasn’t fitted with lighting when we found it so we’ve had it wired to UK standards and lit with a run of small LEDs that are attached to the central metal pole.
We’ve found a small number of the smaller lamps online ( mainly in France ) and most are described as French 1970’s which fits in with the wheels on this one and feet on the table ones. There was one even taller one for sale in Italy which was described as Italian and i’ve had a similar sized one at home for 5 or 6 years. It makes a great Christmas tree when lit.
Condition
There are a couple of loose glass pieces at the base and it isn’t quite as rigid as the smaller ones. It must have taken a lot of work to produce when new with it’s rough cut links being individually wired so it would have been expensive new. The wheels are in vintage condition and importantly not broken. It is heavy as you can imagine.
It’s 159cms high and 51 cms in diameter at it’s base.
